Augmented reality melds computer graphics with the real world. In other words, your view of the world becomes enhanced. With the help of advanced AR technologies (e.g. adding computer vision and object recognition) the information about the surrounding real world of the user becomes interactive and digitally manipulable. Information about the environment and its objects is overlaid on the real world.
VR headsets are mounted on the head in a similar way to ski goggles, and completely block your view of the outside world.

It places a digital object in the physical space of the business, and invites players to come interact with the object… and patronise the business while there.

Showcasing goods, for example visualising the sofa you saw on a fair in your own house. Sometimes it is very difficult to imagine how a separate piece of furniture would fit into a completed interior. 14% of IKEA customers take home furniture that is the wrong size for its intended spot. For this reason, IKEA released a special mobile AR application enabling the user to estimate visually how this or that commodity will fit in their interior.
It is a great tool for education and training purposes. Imagine walking around a pyramid while it is being build or ‘participating’ to a surgery without having a real live body!
Another example is an AR helmet for construction displaying information about the construction sites in order to indicate security hazards, train new people,… The possibilities are endless.
